I will agree that he was the best character from the prequel movies. But that is like saying that when you are shot 20 times the bullet that only grazed your pinky was the best injury.
Those 2 movies were ridiculously stupid and damaged the franchise as a whole so it is best to forget them.
Good. As cinematically enjoyable as both Prometheus and Covenant are, they are not good Alien movies as far as prequeling the story goes.
David was the best character because all of the other characters are the most braindead scientists in existence.
I feel like people see movie when they are young and build them up so much that when they are adults the sequels are always disappointing.

Good. I didn’t like that David became the main character of the series or that they had him create the xenomorphs. It was a stupid storyline and diminished the mystery surrounding the OG movies.
I don’t get how Prometheus and Alien: Covenant were poorly received. I loved them both and thought they were great prequels to the lore of the franchise.
Good. Clean the slate and fix the timeline.
Good. Ridley has no business making Alien films anymore, mainly because he has no interest in the Alien itself, and he’s said as much. Dude wants to tell a different sci-fi story, and he shouldn’t be allowed to dismantle Alien to tell a Blade Runner story.
Good. Let’s forget Prometheus and Covenant ever existed.
My favorite part of Prometheus was when the cartographers were the first to get lost.
Prometheus and covenant should have been their own story to avoid the mess that the alien franchise has become. David is a compelling and relevant character that I had hoped to see more of. Oh well, im sure more alien vs predator quality crap will be coming soon
