He’s either going to have to do it — put it on the floor himself — or it’s going to be by virtue of a discharge petition, which is a complete evisceration of his power, because it basically says we’re going to do this without the Speaker being in charge,” the chairman continued.

    >Lawmakers could “discharge” legislation if a majority of members signed onto a petition to release it – a difficult path that would require most Democrats teaming up with at least a handful of Republicans. While Republicans hold a slim majority, Democrats could lose members of their own party in a discharge petition vote over progressive opposition to sending U.S. military support for Israel.

How about this… split up everything. Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and immigration should all be separate. That way no one can make an excuse about “I don’t want to vote for this because that other thing is attached to it.” Why does everything have to be attached to something else??? If Congress actually cared about being efficient and getting things done, they would have just done everything separately and Ukraine aid would have passed several months ago. 🙄

There’s no reason that anything has to be attached to anything. It’s not like Congress can only work on one bill at a time. I don’t know why more people aren’t pointing this out. Ukraine aid has been stalled for a long time *even though the majority of members of Congress actually support it!!* That is absolutely ridiculous.

  2. I really don’t get it.

Trump started as a business man, with varying results and some shady doings, became a reality star and then decided he should get into politics. With the simple trick of drowning out the opposition by being loud, outrageous and obnoxious 24/7 he won.

And now he *owns* the entire republican party and makes them follow his every whims for the rest of his life? How does that fat fake fuck get that much power?

  3. It used to be a beacon of freedom and democracy, but nowadays US politics is toxic in the extreme. Right now Ukraine is suffering from it, but no mistake soon enough the whole world will feel the negative effects, not to mention the US itself. Most Americans are decent, well meaning people. How could their politicians have lost their way so badly?

  4. These next few weeks are very important. It’s fucked that our politicians have absolutely no morals, decency, or shame.

  5. Don’t you see that nothing matters at all? Our votes have no voice. We the people have no voice. Either side. The bureaucrats are just doing whatever the hell they want. No one is happy. And I’m talking all sides of the isle. They are doing a fantastic job dividing the country and turning people against each other. We need a hard reset. And I mean that in the most non-violent of ways.

  6. Yes… “No Way Out”… 1987… How precient now that film was!

… and your every assumption about so called “Patriotic” Americans is wrong… they are patriotic yes… but not the United States, but their beloved Mother Russia…
