  1. Russia seems to have unlimited amounts of men and material to sustain the losses they take and keep advancing.

If Ukraine can’t mobilize 400-500k extra troops and get a proper supply of ammo from the west then this pattern will go on with Ukraine slowly losing more ground while inflicting massive losses on Russia.

It’s hard to see what the path to victory is with the current strategy in Kyiv and political paralysis in DC

  2. As an American I can’t help it but to be upset at the republicans that voted against the aid package

  3. I thought they were counter attacking there thats why we had the opsec blackout on t he subject

  4. A story I would have enjoyed reading. They need an obvious language link

  5. Ghoulish to cling to that wasteland- better a bold new front. Imho

  6. Sound tactical decision for Ukraine. Just like Bakhmut Russia chooses a location and pours all it’s resources into it. Then they will sit there for 3-6 months while they replace the bodies they lost. Then they choose a another dumb location and do it all over again.

I imagine securing Avdiivka will be a talking point for Putin during his totally fair election which is next month. It’s been a location that the separatists have been trying and failing to take for nearly 10 years. If the full might of the Russian Federation couldn’t take it I don’t think there newly annexed territories would be too happy.

  7. It took the Russians months of near constant attacks to capture the pocket. The untold dead and equipment losses they spent on this hopefully hurt them far more than the Ukranians.

  8. I just hope that troops had already been withdrawing long b4 the announcement.

    He’s not that stupid, right,?

  9. Amazing how many people don’t see the value in what Ukraine just did. They used Avdiivka as a pill box, slaughtered like 20:1 Russians for every Hero. Got as much juice outta that squeeze as possible given the circumstances. No western aid in sight….might as well go down bringing the hell fire and pink mist.

  10. I think this is a good thing… they would have take. Avdiivka eventually with how hard Putin is pushing to take it and it’s better to save those lives.
