  3. Many are left trapped as the remaining evacuation dirt roads are covered by Russian artillery.

    So hopefully no need for more Ukrainians to die, surrender and be released via POW release

  4. It took the Russians 10 years to capture this town. It has been a pocket for the better part of 2 years and has been under a near constant attack for 6ish months.

    The Russians spent untold thousands, perhaps tens od thousands, of lives, hundreds to thousands of equipment loses, etc… to close a budget in thier line.

    Here is hoping Ukraine was able to grt the majority of thier troops out

  5. who treats their captive prisoners of war better? ukraine, russia, hamas, isreal? I am going Ukraine as the best followed by Russia, then Isreal and Hamas being the worst. That might just be my western bias

  8. The situation in Avdiivka was a wild ride. It was a stalemate for the longest time, then the Russians found a tunnel running across town on old Soviet maps and managed to sneak through the back. Avdiivka, which has held out for a decade, then fell within a few weeks.

  10. Russia in the long term can’t capture and takeover all of Ukraine, so I’m sure the plan will eventually be to just have a swath of land that is flattened and will never be rebuilt, likely to use it as a buffer/landbridge between the annexed territories and Ukraine.

    Russia is a terrorist state and my blood boils knowing the GOP is holding up crucial assistance to push them back and beat them down as much as possible.

  14. I still can’t believe the massive losses taken by Russia just to take a city. At this rate there won’t be much of an army left if they plan to take half of Ukraine
