  1. Random symbols as alternative routes. The symbol doesn’t mean anything unless you saw the first sign.

  2. Shush. Tell everyone it’s to warn about speed cameras ahead. Might get them to slow down.

  3. No-one knows. It’s lost knowledge like how they built the pyramids.

  4. I studied road transport operations in college and we had a lad in from RSA tell us they were currently rolling out a public engagement program where all new and existing motorists would be thought on how those signs work. It’s been 6 years since then and I still haven’t seen anything anywhere about it. This would be so typically Irish. They roll this out and forget to tell the people it matters too.

  5. Einstein working on the theory of relativity ahead . Mind da gap !

  6. I could be totally wrong here, but my mother is from the whest of Ireland, and they have “black spot” signs

They put them up on dangerous roads that have a lot of deaths on them

Maybe it’s something in correlation to that, but once again I’m not sure at all

  7. Super charger roundabouts are even more scary, especially if they are fuel injected

  8. Diversions. Saw this on one of the m50 exits and googled it when I got home.

  9. It’s to do with speed and alternative road routes.

    According to Dayne Tighe’s videos.

  10. Historian here! Not many people know but there was an ancient Celtic folklore about a yellow box with a mysterious black hole in it. The box was said to possess magical powers and was rumored to have been created by the ancient druids to protect the land from evil spirits.

Legends spoke of the yellow box being hidden deep within the enchanted forests, guarded by mystical creatures and protected by powerful spells. Many brave adventurers sought to find the box, hoping to harness its mystical powers for their own desires.

One fateful day, a young orphan named Aiden stumbled upon the ancient yellow box while wandering through the woods. As he approached the box, he felt a strange warmth emanating from within, and he knew that he had discovered something truly extraordinary.

After walking with the box for 2 weeks, Aiden arrived at a crossroads where a weathered road sign stood, pointing travelers in different directions. To his amazement, the ancient yellow box fit perfectly into a mysterious yellow hole on the road sign, and as it clicked into place, a brilliant light illuminated the surroundings.

The legend of the yellow box had foretold that it would one day find its rightful place on a road sign, serving as a guiding beacon for all who sought direction. From that day on, the yellow box became an enduring symbol of hope and guidance for travelers across the land, reminding them to follow their hearts and trust in the magic of the world around them.

And so, the ancient Irish fairytale of the yellow box with a yellow hole in it coming to rest on a road sign lived on up to modern times. I’m not actually a historian, and this was all made up by A.I.
