So a mate visiting his mum in Kirkcudbright, just sent me photos of this bird in her garden.
It looks like a Kookaburra, can any experts feathery bird watchers confirm?
Wallabies on Loch Lomond, Giraffes in Assynt, Kangaroos in Kirkcaldy what’s going on?
Yes, that’s a kookaburra. Must have escaped from somewhere.
It’ll get chibbed by the local Craws.
That’s no gettin it’s hole anytime soon.
That is indeed a Kookaburra (source: an Australian). The largest of all the kingfishers. I guess he’d be eating small rodents in Scotland. Do you guys have many lizards, I assume no snakes?
Poor Bird being in Kirkcudbright…..Looking on the bright side at least it is not Castle Douglas!
