Of course Ukraine let them have it. They value the lives of their soldiers more than russians and decided keeping a useless area of rubble wasnt worth the trade off to defend it. They moved out on their own terms, you moved in. In the civilised western world, we call that voluntary, but its understandable that you dont understand that term as Im not sure there is an equivalent in the russian language.

In the historical context of russian military strategy over the past two centuries, nothing has changed. They literally used the same tactics used in WWII. People need to understand that casualties sustained in this war are not that bad from the point of view of russian genocidal elite class. Doing this for centuries has made them fully aware that russians are extremely docile and they will rather go and die for an psychopath dictator than fighting him. Because of this cultural behavior, russians will have the same military tactics for every city in Ukraine. This grinding strategy works against nations that don’t have aerial support and huge amounts of artillery shells.
