One of modern history mysteries is that UK went to war for Falkland and Let New Zealand,Australia,Canada go without a fuss.
I worked there a couple of years ago and honestly the people there are far more patriotic than here. I found them to be very similar and relatable as well, even given the completely wild differences in their living situation compared to mainland UK.
Just a fun fact. Just outside Stanley they have an unmanned pile of trash that is on fire permanently and anyone can just rock up to and throw their shit on it. I was there for two weeks and it was permanently smoking. You just back your car up and throw anything you want on it and drive off. Unthinkable here.
