  1. Shocking. Or not.

I do wonder how many more of this kind of stories are going to trickle out before the election.

  2. Wasn’t going to their mates, so speed was not beneficial.

  3. Just a semi related note about the tories being shit.

Keep your eyes on Royal Mail over the next 6 months.

Obviously they’ve already gone downhill a lot but the media has been jumping in recently to float the idea of basically destroying the Universal service.

They’ve been bringing in different CEOs for years to try and break it apart for profit and usually the union held it off. The last strikes something was different though and loads of awful changes are in the works.

It is no coincidence that the destruction is happening in the last months of Tory power, before the election gets them out.

  4. 20 years ago this news story would have toppled the government. Now it’s just every day news. Same things going on across the Atlantic. Have we just got super apathetic nowadays?

  5. The one thing I learned from this whole sorry story is that the police, authorities and Court system are there to protect big business not individuals.

  6. “a senior civil servant” – I would have taken a note as to the civil servant’s name, and offered it in my inquiry cross examination.

  7. I don’t see the calculus here. How would this help the Tories?

  8. This whole post office scenario is just another example of ‘shitting on the little guy.’

It’s power and corruption in full swing. Every government, big business past, present and future will continue to do the same.

They get caught now and again like in the corruption scandal. They say sorry and find another way to carry on.

There is absolutely nothing we can do about it. Don’t think Labour are the answer to our prayers. They’re just as bad as the Tories, Lib Dems etc…

  9. Windrush and others also see that thier compensation is stalled

  10. Quelle surprise, this party has been purposely pushing the country towards its own demise, I am getting on in life now but I truly worry about the children, grandchildren and their future because tax avoidance, the only benefit of Brexit, has ruined your grandchildren’s future as care for the country has been dismissed as a woke conspiracy. The post office has been sold to private hands making the post office that managed to keep daily deliveries happening in the 2nd world war going is now often only making deliveries for possibly three days a week in some places in the UK.
This is the suggestion from Ofcom that would remove the Saturday delivery, am I just old because I remember an early post followed by the later post on the same day, but then I was also thinking about how a stamp is a minted piece of money that is now being handled by a private company instead of a governmental entity as demonstrated by the failure of the Horizon domination program.

  11. > A business department source said: “This blame-passing was a feature of Mr Staunton’s time in the Post Office and emblematic of his lack of control over the organisation and why the board needed new leadership. As well as his poor judgment, Staunton was dismissed for blocking an investigation into his conduct. Given [that the business department] is the department responsible for whistleblowing, Kemi Badenoch was not prepared to allow Staunton to remain in position, yet said his dismissal was by mutual consent to avoid damage to his reputation, which he has now invited by speaking to the media, when previously saying he would not.”

The source continued that Mr Staunton also “smelled of wee wee and poo poo” and was “a big stupid head”
