It’s hard to fit 7 in the pan, it’s not divisible fairly unless you’re a household of 2 or 7, and it’s not a traditional number like a dozen. Whose idea was that?

Because 14 is the perfect amount for a sandwich 🤷🏼♂️
Same reason hotdogs come in 8s and hot dog buns come in 6s…..no-one knows
Bacon’s dozen
Maybe 14 is the approximate number needed to make up a specific weight?
2 per day between your weekly shops? Seems reasonable to me
Because they found a blade out the back in the shed that’ll slice it even thinner, thus giving the illusion you’re getting 14 slices as opposed to the competitions 8 slices, yet keeping the overall weight bellow the competitions and banking more profit for the shareholders sitting on their piles of gold, range rovers and gold teeth
Because the bacon tree only grows rashers in multiples of fourteen.
Because the public can’t afford a weekly shop, that’s you sorted for a fortnight. Take your rations err… I mean rashers and don’t complain
Why do crumpets come in packs of 9?
Because it is divisible only by 2 and 7, so you either need to give two people seven rashers, each or seven people two each. Those are the only legal portion sizes.
2 a day. A week of bacon.
I might be wrong, but feels like it used to be 16 and got shrinkflated down.
I never cook half a packet of bacon.
In the rare instance there are left overs, crispy bacon almost goes with everything.
It’s easier to divide into three.
Because I ate the 15th one, sorry about that!
The 7 pack is perfect for two people. 3 each for a butty and +1 for the cook.
2 a day for one week 7 days
2 per day keeps the doctor away…
probably 14 slices cut by a machine makes a certain weight
Because 14 rashers of streaky bacon is 1 sitting, breakfast for 2? Buy 2 packs
Buy the 2 kg packs from the butcher and bag it up yourself. Problem sorted.
4 in a sandwich for 2 adults and 3 for each of the sprogs.
We cut the bacon up as it’s going into the sandwich anyway. Makes for a better distribution and eating experience. Also means the number of rashers is irrelevant.
12 isn’t enough.
13 is spooky.
So….14.
Because 13 will be unlucky
Because that’s 300g of streaky bacon.
With normal bacon, 300g would be 10 rashers.
I’ve never seen a pack of 14 myself. Plenty of packs of 4/6/8/10 though.
2 a day
I think it used to be 16. So this is basically an example of shrinkflation.
I imagine the streaky type is for wrapping things like sausages in? So you probably want a lot?
I have a question, it says you should chuck it away after 3 days of opening.. is it safe for longer than that?
Try the butcher , exactly the number of rashers you want and far better bacon as well .
2 for every day of the week?
It used to be 16 before the last round of shrinkflation. It’ll be 12 by the time this round is finished
Because 7 x 2 is 14…. ***DUH***! 🙄😜
Of course if you’re implying that 2 rashers does not a brekkie nor sarnie make, I would have no hesitation in agreeing with you…
You chose the wrong pack of streaky bacon, I can tell you that much!
Once upon a time they were toying with making them packs of √72. But quickly realised it’s irrational
It’s actually 2 lots of 7 rashers, hope that clears thing up 😂
