I received my contract and it appears that there is no Probezeit (or atleast how I understand it). Is this a red flag? Not sure how I should approach the HR to ask about it .

  1. It depends. Did you work there until now and the contract changed for example from a dated one to an unlimited one? Or part time one to full time? Then no. If this is your first employment there then it might be strange but not necessarily a bad thing. It’s just the law one applying instead of self defined terms.

  2. No betriebliche Probezeit does not mean that the contract does not use the general legal Probezeit. Depends on the overall context.
