14 years passed and they’ve got almost the same clouds.
What are those two giant refrigerators to the right?
Would look way better if not for those.
It got brighter?
do they power the elevators by cycling?
Rotterdam is hot!
With all the plans for high rises it will look completely different again in 10 years. Zalmhaven is now the tallest (in NL) but won’t be for long.
Rotterdam on this picture looks like a miniature version of New York
I know that general consensus on this sub is that modern architecture is garbage and anything pre-war = perfection. It’s sad that Rotterdam lost historical center, but modern architecture in the city has a lot of character. In general Netherlands along with Germany and Denmark has the best modern designs. Warsaw has lots of skyscrapers, but all of them represent the same boring glassy corporate style. I could only wish similar quality to dutch projects.

Lol it got an erection.
Trees have become greener
First it was ugly. Now it’s ugly and a tad higher.
Counted 5 new buildings… such a dramatic change!
Well someone lost their river view
Dutch finally learned how to build skyscrapers on the ground made mostly out of beach sand.
We have a housing shortage!
MOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRR.
This could be Rotterdam or anywhere
Liverpool or Rome
‘Cause Rotterdam is anywhere
Anywhere alone
Anywhere alone
Capitalism will claim literally anything in the horizon and you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. it’s like going from ugly to ugly pro max.
The buildings grew up
So y’all have gotten the new texture patch finally?
Maybe all those skyline changes from China, Mumbai and London have altered my brain chemistry but this does not look all that impressive.
And that tells us… ???
I see Rotterdam also follows the general trend of investing into ~~penile~~ high-rise buildings.
It is better to sacrifice only one city and have the remaining ones more aesthetic
Nice, built up instead of getting rid of every tree
So no historical city center?
Hi, just chiming in to say I made this comparison picture (though the two photos aren’t mine). I don’t mind seeing it here though. [Here’s my original post.](https://old.reddit.com/r/skyscrapers/comments/1ag4096/rotterdam_the_netherlands_2010_vs_2023/)
