Note: Strack-Zimmermann is her party’s lead candidate for the 2024 European elections. She is also full member of the Defense Committee and deputy member of the Home Affairs Committee.
Strack-Zimmermann is clearly committed to Germany’s membership of NATO and to maintaining the two percent target. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, she has supported the delivery of heavy weapons to Ukraine. (She still criticized a similar demand by Green politician Robert Habeck in May 2021, but obviously changed her opinion after Russia’s full-fledged aggression in 2022.)
