  1. First pics are from an area of the town where I live. Gonna check it today. Also, last pic is from Lasnamäe city district, which is 60% populated by Russians brought here in late 80s, who still have soviet mindset. I can already imagine their outrage and whining about this exhibition. Fairly certain they are gonna scream “Estonia is provoking Russia!”

  2. Honestly, buildings in background look just as bad as in warzone/toxic wasteland

  3. The land along the banks of the Dnjepr play a role in Russian folk identity. No one is going to invade this depressing wasteland. Don’t worry.

  4. Damn, they put it up to a region where mostly Russians live. I wonder if they are trying to make war seem more real for the ethnic Russians?

  5. Personally, I don’t like when a campaign aims on human emotions instead of facts and figures. It gives the other side ammo to backfire

  6. Im sorry, but those images are clearly photoshopped.
Idk if this is some kind of filter to enhance the image but it’s fishy. They might be concept photos for the real billboards.

Also they are way brighter than the the background.

Edit: Don’t believe me then. I have no faith in people recognising fake AI photos if they can’t even recognise blatantly photoshopped images like these.

  7. Interestingly enough, the buildings in the pics were also built by our violently expanding neighbor to the east.

So it’s like a layer cake of shit, all caused by Russia. Terrible Soviet buildings, built during an illegal occupation, used for displaying warnings of a possible future Russian attack. Lovely representation of what it means to live next to Russia. Only the gray weather is something we can’t put on them.

  8. This should not be removed, no matter the outrage, this needs to be seen. If we have a neighbour who puts a “russia has no borders” poster on our borderline, then this is very adequate.

  9. The municipal leaders in those Russian majority districts have already criticized the art exhibit, so it has already served its purpose as it must have hit a soft spot.

  10. I am a first generation Estonian, I have families in both Ukraine and Russia and this image makes me want to weep.
