  1. Once again the media is swamped with accolades for a "celebrity" who had practically no talent and has died. What talent did this guy have? None, other than the "Gift of the Gab". For someone who did nothing but talk and present radio shows, this nationwide grief is so over the top it's untrue. I remember the same thing happened when Wogan died, another "celebrity" who did nothing but talk yet managed to convince millions he was a giant in the entertainment industry. I expect the BBC will name one of their buildings "Wright House" as they did with Wogan. It just seems odd to me, that when someone dies who really did do something for people they often don't get mentioned, yet alone have a day of mourning for them, yet someone who just plays music sets the nation in emotional turmoil. What a peculiar race the British are now. No wonder the country is in the state it is.

  2. He was THE DJ in the 1980's. He brought a warmth and fun which just oozed out of the radio. After he left Radio 1 I didn't hear anything about him until about 4 years ago when my wife ( who listened to Chris Evans) said that Steve Wright was on Radio 2. I listened to him all over again for a year or two whenever I was in the car between appointments. He still had it and a UK legend has gone. Thank you so much for the fun you brought us Steve, RIP. ❤

  3. see how the rats at the BBC crawl from under their rocks to pay tribute after sacking him for not being diverse enough or woke enough or brain washed sufficently. shame on you all.

  4. Such sad news, I grew up listening to Steve Wright in the Afternoon, especially on road trips with my family. RIP Steve

  5. APOLOGIZE BBC RADIO YOU DISGUSTING POWER HUNGRY PEOPLE WHO DESTROYED STEVE WRIGHT SOUL APOLOGISE…. YOU DIDN'T NEED TO DISPOSE OF HIM AS RUTHLESSLY AS YOU DID 😢😡

  6. What an absolute legend Steve was. Unique and brilliant. Listening to his show was a total joy. Radio in the UK will just not be the same without him. His dedication to his craft was an example to anyone working in broadcasting. The amount of love that has been shown towards him clearly shows how highly regarded he was – by both colleagues and listeners alike. Rest easy Steve, you were irreplaceable.

  7. He will always remind me of my school days getting the taxi home from school. The driver would tune into "Steve Wright in the Afternoon". RIP.

  8. I was a teenager when I replied to a question. My reply was Give Peace a chance. It was groung breaking and moving to hear him say – (One United Earth).

  9. Get this number down boy 01 01 got some 2012 Olympic T shirts. Brilliant Stevie vid the manager and all the rest kept all us tradesmen going. You will be missed❤

  10. BBC radio 1 and 2 have been systematically dumping all their straight, white, male talent over the last half a decade to replace with cheaper, less talented diversity hires as a PR stunt.

  11. So loyal to the BBC despite their bad treatment of him. I wonder if he knew how much he was loved by millions. Love you forever Steve. There will never be another like you
