Used to be a fun spot to visit with Kayakers. You could have endless discussions about “the line” and how it “would go” but at the end of the day, nobody was taking a boat up there.
Well worth a walk from high force to cauldron snout, gorgeous countryside.
Love high force, especially after heavy rain when the 2nd fall bursts. Incredibly loud up close.
Did your friend disrobe, drink a cup of black goo and then swan dive in?
Magnificent.
That’s not too far from me. Such wonderfully unspoilt countryside.

Back in my teens I did a couple of summer seasons working at the outdoor centre that used to be up the road from the falls. I have really fond memories of that place. Great photo BTW it’s interesting seeing it from that perspective!
Do you have a less moody edit? I’d love to use this in my lessons if you’d allow it.
I grew up near there at Barnard Castle, beautiful countryside 🙂
