Greece to fine unvaccinated senior citizens as of today.

  1. Let’s hope it turns out to have no long term damage, similar to thalidomide.

I think this is a terrible idea. Many other countries are managing quite well without forcing medical procedures on people.

    It’s very nazi germany.

  2. All the people comparing this to Nazi Germany have no fucking idea how a dictatorship actually looks like. Sometimes I wish I could actually send them back in time to show them, because this is just disrespectful towards the true victims of that time period.

  3. Cause extra cost to health system, pay for extra cost to health system. Not a groundbreaking concept.

People with higher health risks (diabetes, old etc.) already pay higher insurance premiums in many countries.

And those health risks aren’t even voluntary, taking the vaccine is.

  4. Europe never respected the human being and never will. You are never free and like any other animal that goes to a veterinary, you have o receive the chemicals that some politician decided. The Europe of Colonialism, World Wards, Inquisition, Slavery is back.

  5. Well you can only fine someone who has money. From what i heard pensions in greece are rather on the low end and people already struggle…

If you are rich, you dont care.
Policy like this, where the rich can buy themselves free are bad

  6. Yo, Nazi Germany didn’t have vaccine mandates, they “let their superior bodies handle everything” sort of like it’s your fault if you get cancer cause you haven’t prayed enough. Use you minds, people.

  7. what a nice way to treat your elders, give them low pensions then fine them because of a medical choice. I understand the argument they are a strain on public health and hospitals, but inadequate hostitals are the government’s problem not the old people’s.

  8. Leave it to the government to find a way to tax us out of a pandemic. This really is a caricature of a reality

  9. So a very totalitarian way of dealing, no doubt. I don’t have a great understanding of Greece but from I’ve heard they are pretty fucked economically and the whole country’s future has been in doubt the last 10-15 years. Maybe it would be less controversial to just let them die in this pandemic and save the state a tone in pension payments that way instead.

Edit: Eli5: they are doing their best in a shitty situation and force vaccinating their elders to save their lives isn’t as bad as this comment section and media makes it out to be imo
