Excerpts:
*On Thursday, YouGov and WPI Strategy revealed that out of 4,000 voters who supported the Tories, just 37% would support them again if an election were held tomorrow.*
*The poll also found 9% of respondents would switch to Labour, 3% to the Liberal Democrats and 1% to the Green Party.*
*22% of the respondents said they were still undecided.*
*Tory HQ will be most concerned about the 19% of poll participants who said they would switch to Reform UK, seemingly confirming fears about Nigel Farage’s former party splitting the Conservative vote.*
What are a third of 2019 Conservative voters thinking??!!!
Reform…..
When being a Tory cunt just isn’t quite cuntish enough.
As much as that! I didn’t think there were so many rich people in the UK hiding their wealth to avoid paying tax.
Good. Fuck ’em. I want them annihilated at the GE the same way the Torski’s annihilated public services and national wellbeing.
Cons will lose hard.
It’s just a fact.
Then further decline will ensue.
The next election could really be the end of the Conservative party in its entirity.
Unfortunately many on the Left are not happy that Starmer isn’t pure enough for them, so this likely won’t happen. But the Tories could be fucked down to such low numbers they essentially become irrelevant. That would dramatically shift the overton window for the better.
And no I don’t think Reform will take their place. Reform is indistinguishable from the Tories. They just haven’t been in a position to have their rhetoric meet reality.
I’ve voted Conservative at every election and can’t wait to vote labour and get rid of this hopeless lot.
The 1/3 just haven’t realised that the labour party is also a neo conservative Zionist party in this day and age. I’m pretty sure but not 100% that Starmers wife might be a Zionist which is a conflict of labours interest of you ask me. Once the 1/3 understand this everything will be gravy for them.
Might get a 1997 event here.
If only a charismatic progressive leader was able to take advantage of the majority. Andy Burnham and Milliband came too early.
Doing a bit of research I realised I actually have fairly Conservative values, the problem is the current Conservative party are not Conservative. They are neo Liberal corporate shills
A third of Tory voters have looked at the absolute shitshow that has been the last 15 years and thought “I’ll have some more of that please”
To be honest the only people voting Tory this time round are the wannabe snobs, the people who still believe that they are part of the Tory party’s upper and middle class elites and that the Tory’s really want to take care of them because they have money, of course they don’t and never will. That or literally the utter imbeciles that treat politics like football teams and just can never ever support someone different than who they always have done.
There’s 2 things they could’ve done to prevent this. Keep energy prices at 2019 levels and control rent and mortgage prices. 2 things that negatively affect 95% of the population in a significant way and the tories don’t take meaningful action to alleviate. They fucked up, they didn’t protect the people of this country and now they’re going to pay in votes.
And most of them will be in Conservative heartlands like here in Lincolnshire. It’s been like it outside of the cities, for hundreds of years.
I’m surprised it’s that high. Has to be pensioners, insulated from the economic chaos and misrule in their paid off houses and final salary pensions, and pig headed stubborn “team blue” supporters left voting for them. The Tories have managed to completely alienate anyone else who might traditionally vote for them.
Edited typo
Yougov did a poll recently that showed age and low education were the biggest predictors of Tory allegiance across demographics. No surprises.
Sunak couldn’t care less about the UK. [He’s got his own agenda.](https://i.imgur.com/Y8piV0D.png)
The stupidity required to vote Tory simply isn’t compatible with modern society and should not be tolerated. In my eyes a Tory is no worse than a pedophile.
I find it terrifying that there are still people out there willing to vote for these twats.
I’m a comfortably off boomer from a working class family, retired on a decent occupational pension from a local government career of 42 years and a post-retirement consultancy with a large training support organisation. I consider my working life to have been professional and have consistently voted Labour as a longtime member of that party. We can’t all be put in the boxes some like to label.
There is a lot of Reform Ltd astroturfing going on at the moment. It probably won’t translate into much at the general election but the Tories have always been at war with themselves over how far right they want to be. On the one hand they want to lose the nasty party label and be electable – think Cameron et al – but on the other hand they want to appeal to the thumb headed racist sorts who idolise Farage because otherwise they lose a good chunk of their vote. It’s nice to see the Tories be squeezed between the centrist Labour Party and the right wingers of Reform Ltd because they lose votes whichever way they turn – a bit like the Lib Dems have always done stuck between the Tories and Labour.
Please for the love of god done take this as a sign you don’t need to vote. Get yourself to the polls and vote to get this shower of shit government booted into touch.
If you’re well off enough that the cost of living doesn’t affect you and you’ve always voted Tory you don’t see a reason to not vote Tory. I’ve never voted for the egregious scum and never will despite how well off I eventually become.
Isn’t it time for a new political party? One that doesn’t shaft the people of this country? One that doesn’t enable serial profiteers like BP & British Gas to operate at the expense of the average Brit?
How many times are you gonna get excited by a poll before you realise they’re all b#llshit?
Every single major election and vote for the last 10 years the polls have been wrong by a huge margin.
According to the polls Trump didn’t have a chance, Brexit was impossible and Corbyn was a dead certainty.
Torry voters don’t engage with questionnaires and polls. It’s been shown every single time.
Now that it’s hitting their personal pockets, welcome to how nhs, police, fire, military staff have felt for years.
Try to remind people of this when it comes to strikes, the people won’t strike on our behalf, only when it affects them personally.
It’s not because Tory voters are unhappy or disenchanted. They are Angry. Angry at the total decay they see in every aspect of their lives. Policing, Immigration, Justice System, the NHS, Potholes in every stretch of road etc. How would anyone trust the Party that has brought this about over the last 13 years to be the ones to fix it. The Tories are finished for a very long time
Surprised it’s that high but maybe some are content with their lives and how things are going currently.
Does this number correlate to those who benefit from their tax systems?
You must be very rich or a total idiot to vote Conservative at the next election.
This is what happens when you cannot stick to being on the Right, and try to appeal both Left and Right at the same time to “win as many votes as you can”. This is why so many rightwing parties have been popping up over the last 10 years.
For a “conservative” party they have failed to conserve anything
