  1. Its the only realistic way. Whatever your opinions about Selensky are, how are you gonna organise a nationwide election, if all resources are desperately needed to fight off a genocidal invasion?

  2. just a little reminder that Ukraine is a Semi-presidential republic (president-parliamentary) with defined line of succession.

  3. And what options do we have? One may or may not like Zelensky, but this is what Consitution of Ukraine states clearly.

  4. i am an idiot who only has knowledge from far away and i have the feeling he is doing a good job.

    is that so ukrainians?

  5. Can’t have a vote when part of your country is occupied.

  6. I would word it differently.
Majority of Ukrainians are against of holding an elections during war as constitution states.

  7. I remember that political analyst of the Kyiv Independent that was on Ukraine: The Latest. She was just saying how almost no Ukrainians want an election, and don’t see a purpose.

  8. I’m not a fan of removing a democratic process, but at the same time, it’s a regrettable necessity.

  9. Well that’s good considering that’s the law of the land. I never understood this whole issue since Zelensky can’t hold an election even if he wanted to.

The legislature passed martial law which locks him in as President until it’s over, it’s not like he declared himself supreme leader. And the only way martial law ends is when Ukraine is at peace.

  10. Obviously!

Like, how would an election even work here? Millions of Ukrainians are refugees in other countries, probably millions more in occupied territory and probably shipped off to God knows where, and their enemy is known for meddling in elections.

  11. He Is a Hero amongst men and should stay. Just this English man’s opinion.

    Шануйте пане Президенте.

  12. Many ask here about options for Ukraine after his term ends. Power can transition to Parliament till the next elections.
