Let them stay separate and their people will suffer. If that’s the way they want to go-more power for the rest of America who (typically) has a reliable grid.
Lol. Nut jobs.
They’re already connected to both the US and Mexico. This would just adding more capacity. This is just clickbait for people to be outraged about
*grabs popcorn*
That will be like Brexit, barriers and passport checks when entering/leaving Texas, import/export duties on just about everything that crosses the border, Texas companies ‘owning’ something in the remaining US need a separate legal US headquarters to operate (and pay tax) there, and all kinds of unexpected goodies.
Thing That Will Never Happen Should Prevent Useful Change, Argues Attention-Seeking Blowhard
Ever try connecting to a federally regulated ISO?. The bureaucracy alone is prohibitively dumb compared to ERCOT
The Tres Amigas superconducting intertie was a plan to interconnect all three grids over superconducting HVDC, thereby moving power without subjecting ERCOT to federal jurisdiction. A third party that didn’t want to see the connection happen, pushed to have the HVDC links declared as legally being the same as AC, in order to have the intertie bring ERCOT under the power of FERC, because they knew that would be a deal-breaker for ERCOT. Ultimately, this led to the cancellation of the project.
I wonder if they know that most of Europe with many, many nations is fully interconnected and synchronized?
As a Texan, I can say without prevarication: I welcome a direct attack on the secessionists.
