So they have to pay fines because their personal decision puts pressure on the national health service. Carrying this logic to its natural conclusion, I wonder if they’ll start doing the same for smokers, drinkers, overweight people, underweight people, drug users, people who engage in unprotected sex with multiple partners, people who don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables, people who eat too much processed food, people who don’t get enough exercise, people who practice extreme sports, etc. After all, their own personal decisions are putting strain on the health service.
I’m double-jabbed and support vaccination but this is a dangerous road to go down imo.
This is good. We can’t force people to vax, but they need to pay the cost of treatment which is heavily increased due to low rates of vaccination.
The optimal is if society willingly jab themselves, the next is sharing the costs with unvaxxed. Last resort is to force vaccinations to specific labor groups based on risk and then whole population.
