Because Sergei shoigu said today the losses were minimal and it’ll be studied in the history books Russian ones
This figure is provided by a Russian milblogger who put the vehicle losses at 300. open source intelligence has documented at least 700 destroyed vehicles so go figure how realistic that 17k actually is. FFS, is noone putting sources into perspective anymore? Journalism is dead.
Nobody knows, in truth. The Russians are certainly understating those losses, and the Ukrainians are certainly overstating them. That’s just how it works.
A pyrrhic victory for Russia then.
The losses are far higher
We could have made it 100k or more with all the weapons we need .
It would have been triple if republicans didn’t exist.
Just for people keeping track, that’s a Russian casualty breakdown of something like:
17,000 killed
30,000 wounded
47,000 total casualties
Which is a killed:wounded ratio of about 1:2, or a killed out of total casualties of ⅓. Which is bang on for Russia’s best combat medical performance throughout the entire war.
But Russia’s combat medical effectiveness degraded sharply in its human wave operations. So the best case may not be accurate in Avdiivka.
If the kia count turns out to exceed 17,000, that will imply that either a) Russian combat medical effectiveness did indeed degrade, or b) that total casualties including also wounded were underestimated by Ukraine, or c) both of the above.
Are drunken prisoners, junkies and people from minority groups from the far east considered a loss for putler?
I would hate to know the ratio of Ukrainian deaths to Russians, because that ratio only gets tighter the closer they get to their objective. Russia is in their self destruction phase but Ukraine isn’t, their lives are actually valuable. It would be awful nice if some people who could actually make a huge difference (eg, the US), actually would. Especially before it’s inevitably their own troops on the otherside of a Russian Z assault.
Money in politics is far more valuable than life, apparently.
That’s good but not good enough, for the next town try adding a Zero, if this war is to be won.
