California bill would replace ‘natural gas’ with ‘methane’ in state laws

  1. Methane is a molecule, which can come from a variety of sources. Natural gas generally means methane produced from deep wells. Fossil gas is another term sometimes used. I’m not sure blind search and replace in all the laws gives the intended meaning in all situations.

  2. Or California can just outright ban all fossil fuels for energy production and be done with it.

  3. I mean, people will screech about this but you might as well call a spade a spade.

We could also call gasoline ‘liquid hydrocarbons’. Might remind people what it’s made of and then maybe they’ll wonder where it goes after they keep filling up their tanks…

  4. i actually like it. it was a great move from the fossil lobbies to call it “natural gas”, i mean it is “natural”, thats good, right?

nice that we finally try to stop this PR trick.
