The banking Brexodus that never happened. Why the City is still top dog

  1. I’m sure banks and rich people will do fine with Brexit.

The ones who are going to pay are for sure not the top managers of the City. But the farmers, general workers and fishermen who voted Brexit because they were sure UE was the one between them and their hard-earned money.

  2. It is slowly leaving. This is just a simple question of market access. London was the finance gateway into Europe now its more separate than Third Countries. Foreign banks will slowly transition elsewhere.

  3. The main reason is that as of now Brexit really did not happen in banking and related services.

And, yes, London is a top global banking player and people are understandably reluctant to leave this behind when, right now, there is no reason to do so.

It remains to be seen how this continues for the next few years but it is basically impossible to predict this right now.
