I used to think we had policing sorted out relatively well here in Western Europe. Then I started reading more and more about Belgian police..
It’s fucking insane how people have forgotten it here too. A few people wore the Football shirt, a hockey stadium sung the anthem and that was that. Just like the 2023 mass shooting in Stockholm that everyone forgot, they daily horrific brutality that takes place on the street.
Any one of those attacks would be among the headlines of the year, the gang violence would have made daily headlines if this were 20-30 years ago. But now it’s the new normal.
