Who’s threatening to invade them? All the aggression is from West to East not the other way around
The failure of Ukrainian foreign policy in regards to Belarus is truly staggering.
In an attempt to gain points with the West, and absent any truly fundamental disagreements, Ukraine turned Belarus from a mediator to the conflict (Minsk agreements) into a possible active participant, opening up another potential, ~500 km long front line.
Instead, they should have tried keeping Belarus neutral by exploiting Lukashenko’s attempts to keep Russian advances at bay. They could have positioned themselves as an understanding friend, rather than an enemy.
Big Chess
Pretty pathetic that Belarus is Russia’s closest ally now. Western democracies are always going to be superior to anything out of the east simply due to the fact that we can organize around each other.
