Russia sees Croatia as a respected European partner

  1. > Croatia’s believes that a solution for the Ukraine crisis should be found as part of the Minsk agreements from 2014 and 2015. They envisage the full withdrawal of the Russian army from eastern Ukraine, greater autonomy for Donetsk and Luhansk, and restoring full Ukrainian control over the eastern border.

    > Recently in Kiyv, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, who used to chair the European Parliament’s delegation for Ukraine, and Croatian diplomats openly supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity, offering to share Croatia’s experience in the peaceful reintegration of its Danube River Region in the 1990s.

    > Lavrov said Croatia and Ukraine had different interpretations of “the transfer of the experience in peaceful integration,” with Croatia “thinking about the humanitarian aspects, solving language problems, creating cultural autonomies” and Ukraine wanting to use “the military part of the process that went on.”

    > “Such intentions, which I hope won’t occur, are dangerous,” he said, adding that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had said that “Ukrainians who consider themselves Russian can leave for Russia.”

  2. More russian propaganda today… it seems the russian bots are desperate!

As usual Russia/Putin seeking discord and division within the EU

  3. Croatia and Russia never really had any major problems AFAIK, if anything the CRO government should improve relations with Russia to get us more gas.

  4. This is beyond stupid. There should be no talks with Russia when the troops are waiting for the attack signal at the borders of Ukraine. Anyone who thinks differently either dont know situation in eastern Europe or is paid by Moscow.

  5. Incredibly disingenuous to meet Lavrov when we are one of the countries that have the strongest support (both official and unofficial) for Ukraine.

But logic is not something that is found in today’s politics.
