  1. Going to enjoy all the labour supporters clutching their pearls over this.

As if it isn’t labour’s fault for (allegedly) intimidating and threatening the speaker into breaking convention to protect Starmer/Israel.

Edit: Seems like labour’s threats to the speaker were a bit more than alleged: [Newsnight has been told that it was made clear that Hoyle would need Labour votes to be re-elected after the general election and this might not be forthcoming.](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-68349957)

  2. Labour are really great at making me not want to vote for them

  3. Never liked Hoyle.

Layla Moran is the only one to look good so far today

  4. He’s really fucked it. Saw a tweet there where he was apparently categorically told that Labour will oust him as speaker if/when they come to power. That’s just plain corruption. Hoyle is a spineless grifter.

  5. Labour fan boys blaming Hoyle and not the party that threatened him behind the scenes. So predictable.

  6. Very, very interesting that the ones running to the phones to speak to everyone from the BBC to the press are Labour MPs to reveal Starmers threat.

I’m guessing it’ll be the same ones unhappy at the whipped vote, the blatant Starmer self-preservation dumping of convention, and who would have voted for the SNP motion despite the threats, clearly panicking Starmer.

For all the reports of SNP and tory anger, it seems the angriest of all are sitting behind Starmer on the Labour benches.

  7. Imagine fucking up to thoroughly and publicly, then having to wake up the next morning.

  8. Come out come out Labour posters – stand by your Starmer. Would love to see a defence of this

  9. the man is a wet blanket, an utter red neck who acted terribly but as Sir kid starver orders.

  10. Bloody SNP just Tartan Tories.
This just shows they are happy to collude with the Tories.

  11. Regardless of how you feel about the votes and amendments, he has broken the protocol he is there to uphold and should be removed

  12. I’ve always thought this guy was a clown, based on his time as Deputy. Today just proved it. The speaker is supposed to remain impartial, and this was partisan af.
