Ending the energy firms’ stranglehold would be a vote-winner for Labour

  1. > Centrica-British Gas almost doubled its profits in the first half of 2021. And where the myriad of dodgy firms that intervened in this liberalised market collapsed — as a result of the spike in global energy catching them out — the case for a rationalisation that can only come about through public ownership has become utterly convincing.

  2. We need an energy revolution. Build way more renewable energy sources (wind, hydro, tidal, maybe some nuclear), equally build massive storage batteries the country can use to store excess and than release back into the grid when we use more than we make.

Also, make solar panels cheap and affordable for all, furthermore, add local energy storage as well.

Maybe this is a very out there thought

  3. Ther strongest argument for nationalisation our energy is the fact a lot of our energy providers are owned by other nations.

If we take sole control of our energy network we also have much more control on meeting green targets.

  4. Be self sufficient. Save 9k or get a loan and buy your own solar panels with battery storage.

It’s what I did, and I now pay about 5p per unit of electricity on average a day VS 25p.

Most homeowners could leverage 9k. I’ll make a fat profit on them in under a decade at current prices.

If you rely on the Government to fix your energy bills, you’re going to be paying out big sums for a long time.
