  1. Pack your bags. Your done. Colossally bad decisions from Hoyle and Labour.

Edit: now being reported that a motion of no confidence is being signed by MP’s. Chance he’d survive a vote of no confidence must be very low. Looks like he’s on his way out.

  2. Good to see the call for a cease fire went through. Hoyle has fucked his job though. This is a biggie, apology or not.

  3. He’s denying he was threatened or blackmailed, but as the rumours spread that it was Sue Gray who dripped that poison in his ear, it later emerged that it was Starmer himself who met with him.

Now people can jump to his defence that there is no proof of threat or blackmail, and the flimsy muttering of Labour MPs being threatened in constituencies as an excuse might wash with some, but the key to the level of division in Labour today was the time line of John MacDonald being interviewed and revealing most Labour MPs were going to defy Starmer and vote for the SNP motion, Starmers then meeting with the Speaker, and then his announcement…it was Labour MPs who ran to the press to scream foul that kicked started this whole fuckuparama.

If it wasnt for them revealing the boss’s clear corruption, then this whole thing would have been another staged show of vote failed, pointless SNP, business as usual, nothing to see here.

Labour have just stood on their own landmine on the clear path to victory.

  4. Was wondering where the discussion was, but I see the serial blocker starrynight made the thread so I couldnt see it. Really annoying.

  5. Israel has never been shy about until Hamas is driven out, so Israel will do what it does. Nothing we say in the west will make one iota of a difference.

The world has changed on so many fronts. We can all take our stances, but nobody outwith the conflicts listens. Its headed down a road nobody can change.

  6. SNP totally disregarded in Westminster. Surprise surprise. Should do a Sinn Fein and not bother going.

  7. I see various labour politicians (including Jess Phillips) complaining about the uk parliamentary process. So they are going to change it and bring us kicking and screaming into the 21st century when they win a landslide, yeah?

    Yeah?

  8. Hoyle is one of the biggest arseholes in Westminster.
Considering the clientele that is quite an achievement.
An absolute tadger of a man .

  9. is that wes streeting smiling at the end of the clip behind the speakers chair?

  10. Can someone explain like I’m five what this is all about?

  11. Such a storm in a fucking tea cup. Anyone want to bet me this will end the war?

  12. Unionists fucking over Scotland and taking the pish out the third biggest party in the UK who represents the Scottish Electorate. Pathetic Unionist scum.

  13. The clerk told him very clearly this would happen.

Do I think Hoyle is involved in a conspiracy to evade democratic accountability? No. Do I think the evidence clearly suggests he’s at the very least deeply incompetent and potentially open to being corrupted? Yes.

  14. The same man that calls for applause in the chanber to cease because of process and history then goes against process and history after being lobbied by the labour leader.

Absolutely shocking and he needs to go.

For all I agree that parties are clearly “playing politics” with a GE on the horizon, the SNP have been pretty consistent on this matter since October. Labour could’ve voted for a ceasefire on the SNP motion months ago, but didn’t. Starmer was arguing that Israel has a “right to defend itself” and swerved all suggestions that it was commiting warcrimes by denying the Palestinian polulation running water and electricity along with supplies of food and medicine.

Now that public opinion seems to be turning, and the SNP appear to have another chance to put forward a ceasefire bill, he all of a sudden can’t stand to have his own politicians “rebel” against him in voting for the ceasefire.

Starmer has been given a golden opportunity to put the tories out at the next GE, and appears to be doing absolutely everything in his power to fuck that up. I’m absolutely appalled that this man might end up being a diet-tory in power instead of a principled man like Corbyn (for all his faults).

Starmer stands for nothing, other than whatever might get him votes. There’s no real alternative to the tories and he seems to say he’ll do much the same, but with a red tie on.

What I’d give for an actual left of centre labour party.

edited to tidy up some spelling errors

  15. Lindsay should have resigned at the end of that nonsense and admitted Keir had a word with him earlier. As it is, that’s a non-apology.

  16. They should get rid of the position of Speaker, the ppl of Chorley effectively don’t have an MP. Have those 3 judges off Robot Wars adjudicate things.
