I got two offers for an urgent treatment. One from my new dentist in Zürich and one from my old dentist in Sargans. The old one is obviously cheaper, but also deems less treatment necessary. He only saw my x rays, while the new dentist examined the tooth up close. But I trust the old one more. So, now I don’t know if the new one tries to scam me, or if the old one just did not offer what was necessary. Do you have any advice? Maybe a dentist among you?

  1. tbh – so far every medical issue i had (and i had some of many sorts) where definetly treated way better in zürich then around sargans.

    i am biased but that said: the guys n girls in zürich treat way more people and it looks like they offer the solution to 100% delete the problem.

    for me, zürich. maybe it cost more but you probably have everything possible done to solve your issue.

  2. What I would do is call the old dentist up and tell them “hey the new dentist also deems so-and-so treatment necessary, what do you think?”

    Old dentist can certainly tell if you the new one is scamming you or not, Reddit doesn’t know anything about your teeth situation

    Especially cause you say you trust your old dentist

  3. Moved from Mels to Zurich. It stood out to the dentists here that the one filling I have was made using somewhat outdated material and bad practises, and they received analog X-rays. Everything I got done in Zurich was more pleasant, too. It‘s one of 100 dentists in Zurich, vs. the 2-3 in town in Mels that have been there for decades, so I guess that explains it.
