I think it pretty unlikely that Israel had much effect on profits last year, it’s way too soon.
Moral elements of war-profiteering aside – Isn’t it just *fun* how many big name British institutions are suddenly reporting record profits after a year of us workers being told we’re going to have to endure a whole lot of pain.
I don’t mind it. The global situation is pretty borked. Would just be nice to see some of these huge companies also mucking in, and maybe society having a few nice things like functioning healthcare as a result.
Not just those. BAE Systems makes a lot of money off the Yemeni crisis and from Saudi Arabia. They basically manufacture the weapons used in genocides and terrorism for the developing world, effectively making them complicit in war crimes and human rights abuses across the world. The government won’t say anything because of money though.
War is good for weapons manufacturers shock. Later tonight is sunny weather good for solar energy?
Glad to see what remains of British industry, specifically British defence companies, are at least having 5 minutes of success.
