Sarah, Duchess of York, Issues This Warning After Skin Cancer Diagnosis

Sarah, Duchess of York has shared a heartfelt message on social media urging her followers not to “skip or put off your health care checks”.

She marked Cancer Prevention Action Week by warning her followers that waiting “days could make the difference between life and death”.

The Duchess was diagnosed with an aggressive form of skin cancer in January, less than a year after being treated for breast cancer.

“I’m determined to do whatever I can to help raise awareness by sharing my experience,” she said in an Instagram post.

Sarah revealed that she “almost put off” her routine mammogram but her sister, Jane, convinced her to go.

  1. I love Sarah! Praying for a full and fast recovery and many many healthy years ahead! 🙏 ❤ We in the US are very fond of you and admire you!

  2. Hopefully the Duchess of York will fully recover. She is so full of life and very kind and warm – and she never said any bad words about the Royal Family and was very happy and gratefull when she was invited on Christmas in Sandringham, but most of all she raised beautiful children and is absolutely loyal.

  3. Sarah is, and has always been, absolutely gorgeous. She has always been loyal to the Royal Family, impeccably raised two wonderful daughters, and during all these years out of the public eye was loved and kept close by the late Queen herself, who was an astute judge of character. As a breast cancer survivor myself, I am familiar with her health journey and am delighted she is doing so well and looking GREAT. I am also thrilled that the Royal Family is publicly bring her back into the fold, she deserves it and has deserved it for a long time. She is very much like Queen Camilla in the way both soldiered through years of negative public opinion with silence and grace, and both emerging from it now held by that same public in high esteem. Congratulations to them both, and warmest wishes to the King, Princess of Wales and the Duchess for complete recoveries. A correction, though… King Charles is not Sarah's FORMER brother-in-law. Marriages can be dissolved but in-law relations cannot – it is a point of law. Lady Colin Campbell has explained this extensively on her channel. Charles will ALWAYS be Sarah's brother-in-law.

  4. I've always admired Sarah. While her marriage didn't work out, and she did have to make money on her own, she never bashed the Queen, the Royal family, the British people, or the media, or the institution for money!!! This is one reason why she's been accepted back. She didn't try to destroy the monarchy! Respect! I wish her a clean bill of health!
Much love from northern Indiana ❤️

  5. The Dutchess is right… Don't put off your health checks. And ladies do NOT put off your mammograms! I KNOW from personal experience how miserable a test it can be- mine's in 2 weeks' time and the "girls" are already getting anxious about being squeezed flat – BUT it can save your life.

  8. I have always had a soft spot for Sarah and felt all those years ago she and Andrew should never have been forced to divorce :{ I understand the climate of thought back then but still, I remember thinking, no they should stay married. They suited each other so much. Just my opinion. I do hope she recovers from all of this.

  9. Had two cancers … both BCC carcinoma. One in my face the other on my back . I simply asked the surgeon not to miss any . Cut deep and wide and just make sure .. I got in early because of monthly checks . I really appreciate the Royal medical transparency .

  10. Prayers and healing wishes for His Majesty King Charles, Catherine, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York.
    God Save the King

  11. I love Sarah’s warmth and her natural manner. Nothing ‘put on”. And I feel regret for her and King Charles who have both suffered within the family. And for what? A bunch of old dowdies saying ‘this is not right’ and ‘that should never be’… leading to the exclusion and torment of each… and then… illness strikes them. Shame on those mean-hearted Royals.

  12. Prayers for the Royal family including SHARA hope you are all getting better little by little you are true fighters and you will be OK love and Respect always 💯🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺

  13. Wishing Sarah good health ,her 2 daughters do not have royal duties, they are non working royals, which I m sure they are thrilled with they can have normal family lives ,and much more privacy

  14. Sending best wishes for recovery to Sarah. Always loved her and Diana and their mischievousness. Glad that she is being a little more visible on the Royal platform.
