I speculated about this in the Boxoffice sub. His big premiere on the big screen underperformed and Loki season 2 even despite good reviews had much lower viewership than the first season. I think Marvel Studios knew this character just wasn’t interesting audiences even without the drama.

Marvel took forever with Kang The Conquer arc. I think it’s time just move on with Dr. Doom
Not surprising considering multiple people came forward and said he was abusive.
They did? Weird. Still ended up appearing in 2 seasons of Loki and Quantumania…
OK marvel here’s what you do: take all the scripts featuring Kang and simply take out any reference to Kang and replace it with Howard and or “the duck”

This sounds more like a PR thing. They want to clear their image and assure the fans everything is under control.

What a waste of a character.
They need to make a statement. This whole incident makes them look REALLY bad. Either they were stupid enough to not background check him, stupid enough to miss tons of red flags while background checking him, or well aware of the stuff he was doing and had no problem with it. Firing him is good and all, but the fact that they trusted him enough to make the entire current storyline revolve around him feels out of character for Disney – a company famous for always breathing down the necks of their actors (Hence the “Disney snipers” meme).
Saving face. I don’t buy it
I’d rather see Count Nefaria, Doom, Beyonder, Galactus, Mad Jim Jaspers etc as the next major villain.
I’m skeptical. Quantumania didn’t do great but he was clearly the consensus highlight of it
I think they should make Dr Doom the big bad for the two Avengers films.
They’re retconning their own strategy.
They should have slowly built kang as the evil time traveler first, a bad guy in a few films, maybe in background first manipulating the villain, showing off a few versions like rama tut and immortus (ones that are more the same kang coming back in time), then after some exposure he is the main villain in an avangers film. Gets beat and then break out the multiverse as the council of kamgs show up to right the wrong in the end credits.
Just dumping fans who don’t know the characters that well into a multiverse concept was a little bit of a mess.
Kang is a great villain, he was just presented wrong to start.
I propose a new big bad for marvel.
The purple man. Bring back David Tenant because that dude is the best at everything.
Have the purple man cause chaos. Have him grab America Chavez, pop through different universes and just amass an army of variants. He’ll even go to a universe where Kilgrave became any hero that has died (maybe not black panther?) and now we have the greatest movie ever made in the history of time.
Jessica Jones season one was exhilarating and terrifying. Just protect him from neck snaps.
