I’m referring to this article: [https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/optout-organ-donation-shift-backed-pn-health-minister.1085098](https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/optout-organ-donation-shift-backed-pn-health-minister.1085098). Basically, quoting from the article:

*’As it stands, people need to ‘opt in’ by registering to donate their organs for transplants after they die.*

*The \[new\] bill proposes to reverse that so that anyone over 16 would be presumed to have given consent to donating their organs unless they had stated otherwise.’*

  1. The government already controls the bodies of 50% of the population so why not extend that to 100% 🤷

  2. yes agree, and if you opt out, you should not be eligible for transplant unless you pay

  3. I want to be buried with all my organs, as well as my PS4 and all my stuff. Like Tutankhamen.

  4. As long as i dont get Joseph muscat`s organs i`m ok… otherwise it`s harakiri

  5. I agree with it 100% in principle.

Also, people who opt out should automatically go to the bottom of the transplant list (never mind if they can pay).

My only issue is the vulnerability of a system like this to corruption.  Especially right now in this climate.

  6. Don’t care what they do to me if I’m dead . does not effect me one bit. If nothing, its easier to give something back to the world. How bad can that be ?

  7. I’m not just donating my organs, I want to donate my body to science.

  8. Just wondering. If they take organs from everyone who dies, what happens to the organs that aren’t used? After all they only have a short ‘shelf life’.
