  1. Sounds like a very scientific study if they called it a leaky blood-brain barrier.

  2. Long Covid is 100% autosuggestion. Like fibromyalgia

  3. If this is true (and I’m not saying it 100% is until there’s wider consensus) I wonder if then there’s a lot of people out there who have the same issue but just haven’t picked up on it for whatever reason (e.g. denial, they just don’t challenge themselves a lot intellectually anyway so didn’t notice, etc.).

  4. There’s a membrane barrier as far as I remember from being a forensics lab rat. So if that’s leaking… Does that make them… Insane in the membrane?

  5. Considering the overlap with ME/CFS, I would love to know if this could be true for us ME/CFS sufferers as well. Finding the cause is a step closer to curing it. Some days, those middling days where you’re up and about but you’re like a zombie and everything is like wading through toffee, I wonder if I can even solve kids games puzzles like putting the right shape into the right hole. I can’t think of very obvious words. It’s scary and it’s worrying, but that would explain so much if that was the reason.

  6. That’s quite bad news long term tbh – BBB is key for regulating things to the brain- pollutants and metallic species and drugs can now enter! Interesting to see study after few decades perhaps link with neurodegeneration.
