TLDR: never pay them money. If anyone tells you, you are responsible for closing a contract, no you are not. There are clear rules how an internet contract should be made, and PVZ or their other Companies don’t fulfill them and try to scam you.
Get a germanspeaking person to help you with writing letters.
This is a known scam, search Verbrauchszentrale PVZ on Google. You apparently get a 3 months free Magazine delivery with no string attached after a purchased on certain websites. After the 3 months are over they will send you a “Rechnung” demanding money, cause you never cancelled the non-existing “Vertrag”.
Now they will say they are delivering the magazines and collecting the money on behalf of another Company (for example NickmedienVertrieb) and themselves have no Contract with you. These are shadow Companies and actually have the same customer service phone number as PVZ itself.
First of all I would advice to send back any magazine you receive from them, write “Annahme verweigert” under you name on the magazine and put it in a Postbox of Deutsche Post.
When they send you a Rechnung, go to:
[https://www.verbraucherzentrale.de/aktuelle-meldungen/marktbeobachtung/vorsicht-bei-rechnungen-der-pvz-fuer-zeitschriftenabos-84112](https://www.verbraucherzentrale.de/aktuelle-meldungen/marktbeobachtung/vorsicht-bei-rechnungen-der-pvz-fuer-zeitschriftenabos-84112)
and use the ready made forms to dispute having a contract with them and cancel any existing one. Ask them to show you proof they send you a Vertragabschluss, Aufklärung über Kündigungsfristen und Kündigungsformularmuster.
Send these to both companies, if possible with Einschreiben Einwurf (you get a trackingnumber, giving you proof you contacted them)
Your letters will be ignored, or maybe they will write you back about Datenschutz and how they use your data. They will probably send you more Receipts (now lower amounts for shorter time periods). Don’t pay anything.
They will start noticing you are sending the magazines back und demand an explanation, threating to take legal action.
Now here you write them back, telling them you never made a contract with them, that they are ignoring your letters and they are bothering you and causing you problems in your personal life. Threaten to sue them and make it clear the letters will be send to both companies.
After doing the above I got an apology letter from PVZ, saying that they will not sent any more magazines and that all Receipts are considered null.
I never heard anything from the other company, with which I technically should have had the contract to begin with.
