I can’t see the difference between these pictures and the America I see today with my own eyes.
Pollution and carbon emissions are very different problems though
Don’t get me wrong I love that the EPA was instrumental in that way but it’s far from apples to apples
I just don’t care anymore. Consumerism is the crux of the problem…and you ain’t gonna ever change that human behavior. Why? Because boredom is the true root of all evil.
We can all appreciate some hopium, but the timeline is not on our side. 50 Years from now we’ll be breathing in toxic air, avoiding our dead plastic soup of an ocean, and probably have 1% of the animal life we do today. Unless something drastic happens (full planet grid shutdown sort of drastic), I see no hope and I’ll continue to embrace collapse lol.
Doomerism/defeatism is fossil fuel propaganda.
China’s new coal plants are going to start up and wipe out all the gains we and Europe have made. That is sad. Obviously, we should keep trying, but there are a lot of reasons to be pessimistic about the future.
