This is a ticking time bomb for Trump and he knows it. It’s going to expose him as being a lot less wealthy than he and his supporters say he is. If he had the money he would have already put it up but he doesn’t have it.
James’s office calculated last week that, including interest, Trump owes more than $450 million. Trump can appeal the decision, but he has to pay the penalty in full first. And unfortunately for him, he accrues more interest every day

Not that he just can’t. He won’t. The judge caught him right in the headlights. If he wants to appeal, he has to pay the FULL amount as security within 30 days. Trumps already trying to day the judge won’t let him appeal as well as threatening him… again. The judge just smiles and says, pay the money if you want to appeal.
His narcissism won’t allow him to shut up and pay. Because he knows if he does then the judge wins. The judge already won but trump doesn’t want people to see that he backed down to the judge after everything he’s said.

When I worked as an engineer for General Atomics, I applied for a security clearance (TS). I was approved for Secret, but denied TS due to my credit score and debt. The logic was because my credit was low at the time, it could be used as leverage by a foreign entity to get information out of me. They said the same applies for substantial debt. They determined that due to the amount of my student loans at the time (more than $100k) and my credit (which was below 650) I could not be approved for TS clearance.
Given the nature of the Presidency, I would hope that the same would apply. This amount of debt absolutely compromises his ability to operate with the knowledge bestowed upon a president, and 100% makes him a security risk. If anyone thinks this man couldn’t be bribed for information, I would assess they are grossly mistaken.
So most Americans cannot get a security clearance with this much debt and criminal history. How’s he even eligible with so many red flags?
