Wtf?! Where is that? I haven’t been into Dublin city centre for a couple of years
There are more tents in prominent places too, I went for a short wander and passed dozens but not as bad as near the IP offices

Something has to change because this can’t become normalised.
Was in Dublin yesterday, first time in about a year. About ten or so tents at the side of bus aras too,the side along the Luas station. It’s grim to see
Country has been gutted by a century of right wing government.
The Politicians for this should be in Jail.
The place where a pint 🍺 is €10
Ridiculous in Ireland, its 2024, government has to change, and not for a different party that will keep this going,
Squatters rights for unused government buildings
So…who’s setting up a tent shop around the corner? I’d say Leo would really love your entrepreneurial spirit if you did. You’d probably have to get up early and everything.
It’s shameful considering Ireland is not even so densely populated compared to other European cities.

Is that not the new centre parcs everyone has been raving about?
That’s around the IPO. Been like that awhile but you’re starting to see them more places like along the quays, Dame Street around Parnell St so harder to hide or pretend it’s not happening. For me their needs to be a complete halt to any undocumented immigration and asylum seekers without any identification should be sent back to where they came from. Until we can manage what we have already adding more will only make things worse
Time to send all these lads home. Enough of this nonsense.
Jesus Christ. Reminds me of when I was living in San Francisco. Absolutely awful.
Wow that’s crazy. It’s so sad to see what’s become of this country.
Been like that since Covid pretty much in different spots around town. Henry Street was tent city during the lockdown. Didn’t get as much as attention as these forgetful airport arrivals who misplace their passports and then sue the state for not handing them accommodation.
I’ve spoken to several asylum seekers thru work. The majority of them are sleeping rough, hungry and absolutely freezing. Most regret that they came here and want to leave Ireland but don’t have the financial means to do so. It’s about time our government did something to stop this. It’s not fair to the Irish people and it’s not fair to the asylum seekers.
Where do they go pottie?
But, but, is it not far right to be against this, be like a liberal and invite these people into your homes, thing is these images speak for themselves (champagne socialists).
Ahh I remember people on here saying:”there’s absolutely enough beds for the amount of homeless people in this country.”
Give me a fucking break. While my reasoning is purely anecdotal on terms of what *I’ve seen* whist working in homeless shelters, I can tell you now, there is absolutely not enough beds to go around.
I saw a previous post where op was confounded by why people going to the right perhaps this is one reason
Spud row
Vote put the people who did this.
Jesus. Even London is nowhere near this bad
Permanent supportive housing is the only provably effective solution to long term and short term homelessness. It also happens to be the cheapest. Unfortunately, a lot of people oppose it because it doesn’t require people to get sober before we improve their lives and our community.
Remember, you can teach a man to fish, but it’s a lot easier to learn how to fish when you aren’t starving.
Flashbacks to oxygen, stumbling around drunk, looking for my tent.
