I mean there’s no risk of relegation in NFL, so stream of money never stops. Also you only spend money when you buy the club and when you want to build a stadium. No $100m on 18 years old prospect that might be a flop
The viewership is higher for the NFL than the premier league. Advertisement laws are different in America than England (more ads in America)
They’re the highest viewed league in the richest market in the world, have no relegation, and have monetised every aspect of the broadcast.

You can’t really compare the two. The NFL is a profit sharing “league” it’s a single entity with franchises (basically 32 different stores). The premier league is not profit sharing.
The NFL is “most profitable” because of profit sharing. It’s built to make the rich richer.
The NFL on average has more than 100 hundred commercials per game, each paying the NFL millions.
The premier league is broadcasted across 200+ countries reaching 4.2-4.7 billion people. The NFL is only really accessible in the USA. They say the NFL is the most viewed, but that is because they have the direct numbers out of the USA. The premier league doesn’t have direct numbers from all of the countries it is broadcasted in.
Sidenote: World football is also more popular amongst the young generations in America. Participation between 12-17 year-olds in ‘Soccer’ is 8 million. In the same age bracket, American Football only has 900 thousand participants.
The fact there’s not a “Premier League Channel” available in the Google Play Store/Apple Store where you can watch interviews, replays of the past week’s fixtures, and classic matches for a €7.99/month subscription feels financially negligent
Some premier league fans seem to be getting defensive about this, but as an American who prefers the Premier League to the NFL, I don’t think it is a bad thing. At least from a fan perspective.
Tickets to NFL games can be crazy expensive. When they are having a good season, the cheapest Seahawks tickets you can find are like $250. Beers and concessions are also crazy expensive. It’s like $15 for a beer and $8 for a hot dog. Then you have just non-stop commercials all game long when you watch on TV. You also have owners who extort city governments by threatening to move the team if they don’t put up public funds for new stadiums.
I know the Premier League has plenty of its own problems, but I don’t think its profitability is necessarily a negative for fans.
