President Joe Biden promised Alexei Navalny’s widow, Yulia Navalnaya, on Thursday that her husband’s death will not go unpunished.

The president met with Navalny’s wife and daughter, Dasha, in California to express his condolences for their loved one’s death in a Russian prison last week. During the meeting, Biden discussed a significant sanctions package that will be leveled against Russia in response to the death of Navalny, a longtime critic of the Kremlin, according to a readout from the White House.

  2. something people don’t get yet, with sanctions obviously failing (so far) US has literally no deterrence against Russia anymore, so as soon as war is over, (unless Ukraine magically wins somehow) it’s going to be a brave new world indeed

  3. Sure they will put sanctions on two oligarchs and that’s it. How about sending some weapons to kill russian nazis? He could do that without the republicans if he really wanted but I think he wants to use the current situation for his election

  4. Hahaa.. classic US Move.. how he wants to “punish” russia?

  5. Promises he cannot maintain right now. Not without openly attacking Russia on the battlefield.

  6. If thousands of Ukrainians‘ deaths is not enough to punish Russia, I doubt a single Russian death will tip the scale.

  7. If my SO was murdered, I know I’d feel better knowing that the perps will feel the full force of mild and vague sanctions. /s

  8. Sure, Russia must be so afraid of this senile elderly gentleman who manages to get lost while walking off a stage.

  9. I would rather he said Russia will be defeated

Who gives a fuck about punish at this late stage, grow some fucking teeth USA and Europe… Jesus fucking Christ

  10. Took America years to join WW2 and when it did it won it all + golden age which made the the greatest super power that ever existed. Took America some time but took the lead and won the Space Race by sending people in actual space and the moon. Took America some time but they eventually won the Cold War. People talk about the post American world, but I’m yet to see where this world is as still richest, still most technologically advanced, still largest and most advanced military, still its companies dominate.

Only by track record you might say why US should never be taken lightly. Today we expect results immediately, in reality it takes a lot of time and a lot of setbacks.

Would Russia be punished directly for his death, I doubt it, but it will be in the long run.

  11. I wish that US would kill a hundred top russian officials/key persons (including Putin) almost simultaneously with a secret weapon. That just might prevent russia from retaliating with nuclear?

  12. Interesting flex. You what would actually help? Sending fucking ammo as you’ve promised. “As long as it takes”. Jesus Christ…. ruzzia is California GDP size. If USA wanted, they could end the war in few months.

  13. russian prison guards won’t be allowed to spend holidays in the USA, or more involved and direct aid to Ukraine?

  14. No they wont, the west lied to us all about the joke sanctions they had imposed regarding Ukraine, no rich Russians life was affected.. it was a complete lie
