We never should have stopped building them. Now that we’ve stopped, recreating the supply chain and personnel experience is an insurmountable task.
Like, by the time the nuclear plants start coming up, it will be too late. Takes decades to build, and at astronomical cost, when we need to drop emissions to zero in a couple of years.
Their goal is to quadruple output by 2050. Far too little, far too late.

Britain has serious problems with any large scale project these days.
I really, really would not trust them to build a safe nuke plant. Hell, or even complete one once started.
We need more micro fission plants that the startups are building. Feels like the future of fission is small and safe.
