Well, maybe not starved per se, but haven’t you ever been banned from eating dinner as a punishment? That’s how it was done at my home.
I’ve had ‚no eating until the end of the day’ punishments.
Delikatne kary. Gdybyście się urodzili 20 lat wczesniej to dzisiaĵ mielibyście grzbiet dębowy i dupę z betonu. Na przeprosiny dostawalo się… do posprzątania pół domu.
Turkey is way worse
maybe it’s supposed to mean “no sweets for you” doesnt seem quite the same as starvation 🙂
We tend to do more punishments like in Balkans countries
What a stupid map, lol.
Author was starved probably…
you guys never heard the phrase “Zachowuj się/Cicho albo nie dostaniesz kolacji/obiadu”?
Strange, I used to get “trzy szybkie na dupę” to recalibrate my behavior. I have ADHD, so I would take starvation over spanks.
This shit again? Source or GTFO. Not once in my life have I ever even heard of someone suggesting to not feed a child.
At my house it’s ‘no games, no phone, no sweets(could be starvation for some ! )’ 😉
I guess we aren’t disciplining kids no more cause I see a lot more fatties now
“Spanked” should be called “beating”.
Abandoned💀
Are we stupid?
By the replies it seems like a lot of people haven’t seen this happen, but it definitely does (or did) happen. I wouldn’t call it “starving” though, but my parents and generally parents in my wider family punished kids by taking away the thing they were punished over. If you were being rude about the food you got or refused to eat it, then you wouldn’t he eating until the next meal, until the evening, or until the next day. Usually like half a day, ish, depending on how much you annoyed your parents.
If you did something particularly bad or showing entitlement to your parents work, then your parents might not let you have thr next meal they cooked. I remember I complained about a tomato soup being too salty (multiple times, which I really shouldn’t have) and my mum was having a really bad day, so she poured my bowl down the sink and said that’s what we have and if I don’t want it then I won’t have it, and at that point I wasn’t allowed to take it back. But I wasn’t starved or anything, it’s not a problem to go without a meal or two once in a while, but it did teach me something! Now I’d probably not do that to my kids if I wanted to have any, but she was also going through a hard time and hard day in particular that I wasn’t aware of, and it was a similar “punishment” to others that could be had in a similar situation, so I understand.
I will say, though, that at least growing up being spanked by a belt (that’s still spanking right? “Spanking” puts an image of a hand into my head, not sure if it still counts when an object is used) was far, far more common as the general punishment for particularly bad behaviour, so really the “starvation” label doesn’t make too much sense given its prominence compared to other punishments.
Could be because you’re blocking Ukraine grain and other agricultural products at the border. 🤣
I’d not say that Ukraine is spanked, it is less and less often with generations, I was born in 90 and was not spanked (those times it is rare case but still), and now all children of my friends and relatives were not spanked, yelled a little bit and no more treats.
Germany – geez what if president of (choose your country) calls during punishment?
In Belarus we have a mix of it
W książkach i filmach częsty był motyw pójścia spać bez kolacji lub brak obiadu…
