  2. Profitable in the short term. The quality has certainly declined and Zaslav has burned the creative talent. Not sure how well that bodes for the future.

    I hope they sell WB to Apple. They seem to understand how the long game works when it comes to nurturing creativity.

  7. Reality tv doesn’t take a lot of money to produce compared to tv shows. Not a bad strategy for Warner Bros to buy Discovery

  8. Isn’t this the streaming platform where movies and shows get announced just to get cancelled last minute for a tax break or write off

  13. The only thing HBO has done right recently is THE LAST OF US. HBO no longer means prestige. Especially with shows like SUCCESSION (which is great but predates Zaslav) having wrapped up.

  14. Whenever I see a picture of this guy it always baffles me. Like who on The Grand Counsel of Lizard People thought it was a good idea to give this guy such a public role in Hollywood when he’s so easy to clock?

  15. And all it took was removing popular shows from existence, halting the release of completed media, and obliterating their entire reputation.

  19. Yeah because they cut costs they’re technically “profitable” for now. They don’t have much in the pipeline though and they fucked their reputation
