1. Something has definitely changed with Fox’s position on Ukraine in the last week.

2. Did anyone else feel a little underwhelmed at Zelensky’s responses?

   I feel that this should have been a slam-dunk opportunity to pitch simple and compelling points that a Republican audience could get behind. Yet they were at times rambling, confused and referenced things the average American would be unlikely to understand or failed to reference things that would give important context.

   For example he could have talked up the Slavic nations experience with, and knowledge of, Russian imperialist mindsets. And linked this mindset to the potential for future Russian aggression which would impact on cost of living for American voters.

   He could have been very clear that he was elected on an anti-corruption manifesto, yet seemed embarrassed by the question of corruption. He also failed to link the standards in the EU to ones that American officials would accept. Additionally he could have clarified that support is effectively tracked to avoid it disappearing into corrupt schemes.

   That money would go back to American industry was only briefly mentioned.

   There also wasn’t a compelling argument behind why Americans should care if Eastern European nations are subsequently attacked by Russia.

   As someone firmly behind Ukraine this was a little disappointing.
