How did our inflation rate got so low?

  1. Because otherwise all our wages would needed to be increased every few months, and they didn’t want to do that.

  2. Gas prices went down a lot. Because of the mild winter people are using a lot less than usual. Food prices however are still completely absurd. When gas prices go back up inflation will shoot up like a rocket. The core inflation is already going up at this point.

  3. Inflation is the price increase of all goods – essential goods. This means people are running out of money to buy non-essential goods, so their price doesnt increase that hard anymore. This should have been influenced by jacking up interest rates, proving simple economic axioms.

  5. Indexation is a lot of it, even though employers sure did their best to skip a year. Looks like the profits survived tho.

  6. Indexing doesn’t stop the actual rate of inflation, rather helps to increase purchasing power to help overcome the loss caused by inflation.
