– Rusija Liet’

Hello, this is an update to my post months ago about trying to get a certificate of Lithuanian descent, I found a document of my family member, and was wondering if it would count as proof of her being Lithuanian, despite the document saying ‘ birthplace- Russia Liet’

  1. That does not make sense, someone made a mistake. “Leit” is not a shirtened for Lithuania in any languageX even even in lithuanian, which would be “Liet”, not “Leit”. English would look something like “Lit.” or “Lith” yet still it’s a weird decision to shorten a birth place like that. I think it’s not a proof until you find a normal document.
