    We arent trying to “Trump proof” ourselves. We are trying to make sure we dont get ran over by Russia. This isnt some sort of American leftist shit.

    It is about our own safety and survival. It has nothing to do with Trump. The problem is Russia knocking on our borders.

    Contrary to what you yanks believe, we dont actually rely on your help. Sure, we want it, but in the longterm Im pretty sure we’d be better off without you.

    The EU will finally unite in a single federal Union which rivals Russia and the states. US subsidies only keep the EU subservient, because it’s easy.

    Then you get to make headlines like these. Fuck off.

  8. Imagine how you would feel if a company you normally did business with became hostile towards you after years of collaboration. I’d be skeptical of doing business with them.

  17. Upset win on Election Day. Ten weeks of transition. Inauguration Day. Four years in office. Election Day (again). Inauguration Day (again).

    Another year goes by. Then two years of war. Much of it with, even the guy on the ballot in November who, in contrast with his opponent, clearly DOES want Ukraine to win, wringing his hands over “escalation” when someone suggests supplying Kyiv with a fighter jet designed in the ’70s or some other entirely sensible piece of conventional weaponry like long-range rocket artillery.

    Europe, today: “We should probably start Trump-proofing this place.”

    Human civilization needs Trump to lose, GOP members of Congress who are bizarrely chummy with the Kremlin these days to shake the snow off their boots, Biden to show some backbone, doomers to finally get so far up their own asses that they disappear with a little popping sound…

    And for Europeans to not *always* be the little pigs who build their houses out of straw and sticks so they can go dance and play, until the next Big Big Wolf comes along and they have to call Rambo like in that stupid music video.

  21. If Europe could pull off a victory in Ukraine without significant help from the US they’ll change the world order more than Putin or Xi could ever hope. I don’t think a pluralistic democratic order could get themselves together enough to do it, but if they did it would usher in the multipolar world.

  22. Russia isn’t our biggest threat. They are Europe’s biggest threat. For the US it’s China. Europe can defend themselves against Russia. I would rather we focus more on helping our allies in the Pacific.

  24. NATO is going to have to get involved in this if it escalates again beyond the current stalemale.

  25. They agreed to 2% of GDP to be a member, and a lot of them haven’t been pulling their weight. I think it’s a good thing they are stepping up. Poland is the only major power over there that has its act together.
