Wait, did they open the roof box and notice the guy in there, close and lock it back up again, leaving him in there, then call the police, wait for them to arrive and then reopen it again?

How did he get in? And how did they know he was in there while it was locked? This story just seems so strange.
As is tradition he will now be taken to the British Museum in London
